Nicolas Makhoul, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician who has served the East Bay community for the past 30 years. As a San Francisco native, he earned his B.S. degree in physiology from U.C. Davis and attended Loyola University in Chicago for his medical degree. He completed his family practice residency at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez, with an emphasis on acute urgent care and chronic disease management across the healthcare continuum. Over his career, he has worked extensively with local health systems and served on several non-profit boards in various leadership roles.
His passion, however, lies in patient care and supporting the wellbeing of the individual patient within his or her social sphere. Dr. Makhoul’s focus on preventative care with a balance of mind, body and soul are central to his philosophy on overall wellness and longevity. He views his biggest asset as his long term relationships with both patients and medical colleagues throughout the East Bay.
Dr. Makhoul is happily married and blessed with three young adult children, who are each pursuing a career in healthcare. He is an avid sports fan, enjoys the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
