PicoSure®

The Perfect Treatment for pigment, wrinkles, and acne scars when you have no time for downtime.

A healthy glow is a sign of youth – and it’s one that your skin deserves.  The PicoSure® brings vitality back to your face by improving the effects of sun-related and hormonal pigmentation and texture changes.

Unlike traditional laser treatments that deliver pulses in nanoseconds, the innovative PicoSure® laser is the first and only picosecond laser on the market, delivering ultra-short bursts of energy to your skin in trillionths of a second! The speed helps ensure that cells and pigmentation in these areas are affected without any harm to healthy skin cells or tissue in the surrounding area. PicoSure promotes enhanced collagen and elastin production for an improved appearance.

While PicoSure® was first used for tattoo removals, newer clinical research shows impressive improvements for skin discoloration, textural changes, acne scars, and other sun-related skin conditions.  Non-surgical, and with no downtime, PicoSure treatments are effective on the face, neck, chest, and body.

Answers to your frequently asked questions

What concerns can it treat?

  • Pigmented lesions
  • Brown spots
  • Freckles
  • Melasma
  • Sun damage
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Acne scars
  • AND tattoo removal of all colors too!

How does it work?

PicoSure® is an easy, lunch-time skin revitalization treatment!

PicoSure® Focus laser skin revitalization is a non-invasive way to replenish all three layers of photo-damaged in the skin.

As an FDA-approved aesthetic picosecond laser for all skin types, PicoSure® is the first of its kind.  PicoSure® is the only picosecond aesthetic laser on the market.  Traditional lasers (fractionated CO2, IPL, Fraxel and nanosecond devices), rely solely on concentrated heat energy, which causes patient discomfort and substantial skin redness, swelling and downtime, and are not approvedfor all skin types.  PicoSure® technology gently delivers short bursts of light energy to target problem areas.  PicoSure® uses pressure to achieve the desired result.  This gentler approach provides amazing results, without the discomfort and downtime associated with traditional, heat-based lasers.

PicoSure® is a fast and easy non-surgical, non-invasive laser skin treatment that concentrates on problem areas whether its age spots, freckles, sun damage, pigmented lesions, fine lines and wrinkles or acne scars.  This treatment may also be used to treat other areas on the body, including the décolleté, face, legs and hands.

How is PicoSure® different from other laser resurfacing (such as Fraxel) for skin rejuvenation?

Traditional lasers can be a highly successful way to achieve a younger look.  However, they do require some recovery.

PicoSure®, on the other hand, uses faster pulses of light energy to break-up pigment in the skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production.  PicoSure® requires minimal downtime and is the only FDA-approved aesthetic laser for all skin types.

What should I expect during treatment?

The treatment takes about one hour, depending on the size of the treatment area.

  • First, after any make-up is removed from the treatment area, a mild numbing cream is applied to achieve the most comfortable experience
  • Protective lens are provided to protect your eyes during the laser treatment
  • Treatment is performed
  • Cold pack and/or aloe vera gel is provided after the treatment for comfort

Although you will see improvements after one treatment, we recommend three skin revitalization sessions with PicoSure® to help you achieve the best results possible.

What skin types does this technology treat?

PicoSure® is the ONLY FDA-approved aesthetic laser for all skin types (Fitzpatrick I-VI). This technology will help all candidates, particularly of Asian, Indian and African descent, to safely and effectively remove unwanted pigment on their face and body.

Can I get PicoSure® Focus Skin Revitalization treatment in the summer?

Absolutely YES! This innovative technology makes it a safe treatment during summer, while all other lasers (including IPL) should be avoided due to increased risk for solar skin damage in the summer months.

How long does the result last?

The longevity of results from your treatment will depend on the skin issue that is treated. Patients treated for hyperpigmentation or acne scars will typically experience long-term results.  However, new scars or melanin clusters can develop in the future.  In treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, the longevity of the results is improved with proper sun protection.

For tattoo removal, once the tattoo pigment has been removed via the lymphatic system, it will not return unless you get a new tattoo.
