Dr. General Hilliard is a cardiologist and sleep medicine specialist who has practiced in the East Bay Area for over 40 years. His scope of practice has ranged from general care for cardiovascular diseases to electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, executive medicine screening, and preventive medicine including screening and evaluation for sleep-related disorders. He has found that prevention and lifestyle changes offer patients the greatest benefits. Dr. Hilliard believes that screening for sleep disorders is also an important component, as many patients are not aware of their symptoms.

Dr. Hilliard has lived in Contra Costa County since 1975. He received his medical doctorate from Meharry Medical College. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at the University of California, Davis. He has post-graduate education in interventional cardiology and sleep medicine. In addition to private practice in cardiology, Dr. Hilliard has served as a medical consultant for the Oakland Raiders, the Golden State Warriors, the Alameda Health System, and the FBI. Dr. Hilliard is a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow.
