Laura Jensen Norberg is a board-certified music therapist and has been practicing for ten years. She received her undergraduate degree in music and dance ethnography and performance at Pomona College and her master’s in music therapy at Colorado State University. Laura has advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy, holding the designation of Fellow from the internationally recognized Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. After completing her internship on the inpatient LifeSkills Rehabilitation unit at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, she worked as the staff Neurologic Music Therapist at the Center for Neurorehabilitation Services, as the program director for the Shared Journeys Brain Injury Foundation day treatment program, and in private practice in Colorado.

In 2009, Laura founded Bayside Music Therapy Services in order to provide physical, speech, and cognitive training for adults living with neurological injury and illness. Together with her patients, she works to set goals that help increase successful participation in everyday life. During a session, patients actively engage in music experiences that are designed to help them move, speak, and think more effectively.

In addition to music therapy, Laura has extensive professional experience in dance and personal training, and has recently enjoyed teaching a SilverSneakers senior fitness class. She finds both music and movement exciting because of their profound abilities to improve how people feel and function physically, cognitively, and emotionally.

Laura enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, exercising, making music, dancing, sewing, and reading. She is excited to be a part of the multi-disciplinary team at Comprehensive Wellness.
